Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it – no matter if I have said it! – except it agree with your own reason and your own common sense.” – Siddhartha Gautama, a.k.a. the Buddha

That was new,,,

Long(ish) day at the J.O.B. thingy. Outside work, where I am usually safely indoors doing my thing. Not comfortably cool, but not exposed to massive attacks by Sol. (And the flip side of that coin, in winter its an icebox, but the wind is outside, not in (mostly),,,)

‘Thought ‘ I took plenty of fluids, and had none remaining when the cut-off point came, so I was drinking. But the weird came while returning to the shop. My hands started cramping.

Then upon arrival to shop, park truck and get my tools to my personal Buffalo, my legs cramped: HARD!!!! This was NOT a Charlie horse, though it hit in similar fashion; like lightning out of a clear blue sky. By the time I made to Buffalo, my pain levels were insane. Hard enough that I started feeling physically ill. I squated down (seemed to help ease the pain) and just waited for the nausea to pass. Even then, getting pack upright was a medieval torture like the rack. Sat my ass down in Buff, and waited till things felt a little less “intense “.

I’m guessing I wasn’t hydrating properly and my electrolytes were out of balance. Even now, sitting here, my feet keep giving little twinges like they are ready to take on twisted and deformed shapes. I’m sipping water and a Gatorade, both, trying ease my system back towards normal. The legs and hands are settled down now.

This is why I hate field work,,, I’m getting too old for this shit,,,🤯🤯🤯

The best is when you drive to your destination, jump out and both groin muscles tighten like a banjo string and you have to grab the door to keep from falling over.

It’ll let go after about 2 gallons of electrolyte/water and 4 trips to empty your bladder of crystal clear fluids.

Until you dehydrate just a *bit* too much again…

    • Pickle/juice is “Rennie Gatorade.” And there have been times when a pickle or the juice was The Best Thing In THE WORLD just then. “If it tastes good, you NEED it!”

      • “If it tastes good, you NEED IT”. Ive said that for years. Your nose will tell you way more about your health than you’d suspect, same with tastebuds (and they ARE connected)
