Brilliance, thwarted!!!
Ran Selkie into the rafters of the porch to keep fuzzy mischievous and usually grubby pawed felines off her virgin uncoated skin.
Yeah, that worked. NOT.

Came home from B’s place after our New Years hobnobbing, tale swapping and attempt to organize what sort of whitewater/flat water chaos we can get our middle-aged butts into this year. Grizz, no where to be found. Zooms, same. Mama is acting anxious, but I put that down to the fact that I was gone overnight, and she ALWAYS acts like an overnight is “You were gone forevahzz and there was no one coming to make sure my foodbowl is full!!!!!” Look around a bit to make sure that I hadn’t been gifted any small furry or feathery things in my bed, took a bit to get a fire going in the stove and start the warm-up of the house before the temps fall into the basement as predicted by the weather-liars (who have been quite accurate the last few so I shouldn’t get too negative about them.). Still no fuzzies. Start calling, and suddenly I don’t need to look, that kayak started tossing around like she was on water and I KNEW where those rug-rats had hidden away.
*sigh*. I guess I will just have to give the boat a bath BEFORE I go doping that skin. Another added detail I was trying to avoid but if I am making that skin white, every single paw print will show through darkly, and may even cause the dope to fish-eye there, and that means LEAKS. At least this stuff is tough enough that they aren’t getting claw marks in it when they make that leap of faith to get to it.
