Maybe the bear was a comedian,,,,
Posted about Serena being warped in my last post. Well, I had ‘parked’ her in drydock after I had seen the issue, loaded up Duh!kee and Piro instead. She has been ‘loose’ as in not strapped down and cockpit up. No direct sun, but plenty of light hitting the porch below her perch.
Came home today and looked her over.
Wait a sec, double check my eyes, grab a level and a laser. Decks are square to each other side to side.
Keel, within 1/4″ and the cutwaters are aligned again.
Skin problems? With the inside skin not as coated as the outer, and nylon being hydroscopic, was the skin tight on one side and loose elswhere? I can not see ‘warped wood’ straightening out that quickly, but I could see the skin pulling things funky.
Maybe I need to leave her alone in the rafters until a really dry spell (as in February when my house walls shrink from lack of humidity) then make up a tonic of polyurethane and coat the inside as well. Keep things from getting ‘wonkified’ warped and my brain tasking itself with solutions without enough data.
