Getting into the wind
Just a few days more,,,
Standard Delco alternator casing, rewired to something more productive with low input, and permanent magnet in place of field coils.
Simple bench testing on my end verified that the output was close enough to recorded testing at windblue to satisfy me. Here is a graph of that.
Note:12volts at as low as 130rpm.
Testing it with a cordless drill, I was able to get that verified and ran it at wide open and saw 125v (no load obviously, drill peaks at 1500rpm) WOW!
Well, the genny is now mounted up, ready to be put on the tower, wired in then raised, but my work week is not yet done, so I will just tease you with idle sneaky bits like this.
More coming atcha soon
