Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it – no matter if I have said it! – except it agree with your own reason and your own common sense.” – Siddhartha Gautama, a.k.a. the Buddha

Unintended Consequences: hill version

Not a post about the house, more an oblique observation of current events. Back to house soon enough.

Recent conversation with my Dad revealed a chink in the progressive media agenda. One that I am sure they had never counted on. See, my Dad is still convinced that the news he watches is unbiased and factual unlike this

And he has been paying attention to the outpouring of ‘refugees’ from Syria. (And unaware that the U.S. Is getting it’s fairshare). He commented to me that if these people had not been disarmed , they would have been able to defend themselves.  I repeat, I don’t believe this is the messege they wanted to deliver.  Ah, but one we may be  able to exploit to/at any anti-gun libtard.
Think about it

Unfortunately, many in the sand have shown the unwillingness to fight back even with plenty of munitions and fire power furnished . Afraid that mentality is rampant here in the US and very well may become refugees themselves, but with nowhere to run…

    • I thought about this a while before replying. You are both right and wrong in this assessment. Part of the unwillingness you see is in no small part to a really F!ed up set of ROE (rules of engagement) and also a new tactic called COIN (counter insurgency but its a misnomer should be called, cash for trash) Another part of that is back to back multiple deployments with little to no chance to get out before the next one. They call it stop loss, and pretty much the only way to avoid it is to get shot up, lose your mind, or make yourself so pathetic, they want you out. Refusing to fight is another way out, but I think its one that will get more killed than released from duty. I know a friend of the family has pulled 7 tours in the last 6 years. Each is a 6 month deployment and he has been in both sandboxes. The guy has made Gunny in 6 years, all field promotions, and has far too many purple hearts to think about, yet has not been fucked up too much to not be sent back in. He is trying like hell to get out and keeps getting the run around from higher. The last time he was promised an out, he got orders three days before the discharge was to go through and was sent back to A-stan for 6 months. When he got back, “discharge, what discharge?”
To boot, many of these people now realize that they are not fighting to preserve an american way of life, but to defend corporate interest in the area. And guess what? most of that corporate interest is held by the Chinese and Russians. Just look into what energy projects are going on there and you know that none of this is for our country. PERIOD. (unless its just to keep our economy propped up that much longer. DING DING DING!!!!! Think we have a winner!)
I think when many of them get back, they resort to escapism, but more than a few (Like a certain Gunny I know) are planning on defending what they weren’t allowed to defend when they were in. (and that is one reason why the State is so friggin scared of ex military. We are trained and far more often willing to do what needs done,)

Lol…I agree with all you said, except I disagree with what you thought I meant….I was talking of the natives of the sand not willing to fight…know our guys would kick ass if ROE for war where in place rather than Chickenshit in place now. Hope that cleared up what I meant.

      • indeed. Yeah, ragheads, won’t fight when things get real hairy, they’d rather cut off the heads of shackled prisoners as a sign of their testosterone.(or lack of)
