Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it – no matter if I have said it! – except it agree with your own reason and your own common sense.” – Siddhartha Gautama, a.k.a. the Buddha

Friday Sept 18

Just a lil pictorial of forward momentum

More tomorrrow after I abuse my fear of heights. (It was only somewhat pushed today, tomorrow is sheeting and roof materials, possibly extending into sunday. Will post pics nonetheless. )

Looks very familiar. One suggestion, screw a horizontal 2x to end of rafters so it sticks up couple inches above rafters stripping and metal..serves two purposes, end stop for metal so it aligns with each piece and also a foot stop in case you start sliding on the roof and you will…grab rope secured to opposite side of roof is well worth time….looks good Jamie, you getting close…

One other thing, set your cordless torque so it sings roofing screws without over tightening the rubber washer or it’ll leak…the few leaks I had was from over torque screw…1/4″ nut driver comes in handy for the few that might need fine adjustment which will happen often

    • I am using cordless impact drivers. (These studs are hardwood, not pine). But I know what you are saying. Figured on that and also put down 30# roofing felt. (More as a moisture barrier as sheetmetal tends to sweat around here. ) had a bit of a snag today and will do a post about later. Still too pissed off to cover it without making myself look like the ultimate asshole.
