Yes indeed, but you’ll have something which 95% of the country don’t have. A PAID FOR HOUSE !

And believe me, I am paying for it. Ow! My aching knees. And for those that say I don’t have a “rent” or “mortgage”, they’re right, but I sure as s#*t am making a hella house payment every month. (About 2/3ds of my total income )

Nice! Hey, where’d that gray hair come from?

Thats my dad and uncle. I am behind the camera like I should be in this case. LOL
Don’t forget to use bat insulation on all of the walls. It’s worth it. Believe me.

No worries there. I am putting up mylar coated foamboard 1/2″ thick towards the outer wall, then batt inside that. Doing something similar on the roof (vaulted ceilings) and all the internal walls are going to be open to the ceiling with a ceiling fan to move the air. I didn’t cut out the window openings yet as we aren’t sure what size they are. have them but not sure where each of them are going and none are ‘regular sized’. Also, there will be an 8′ covered porch on the downhill side so there is even more living space than just what is shown currently.

Looking good Bud, at least you have some extra hands…The porch will be one of most used area of the place, gotta a couple of rockers, but they seldom used, instead it’s become more storage, work shop than porch….like you, shop is planned, but in meantime porch is it….take NO safety short cut as you go higher, I know of what I speak. Again, looking good Duo, know the satisfaction you feeling by now…one board at a time and soon a house appears….congratulations.

Thanks. I am patting myself on the back just a bit. My dad and uncle are both, while they help, amazed at how fast it’s coming together. Soon will be at the point where progress seemingly slows as the details get smaller but more prolific.
